Formed by Tuomas Tahvanainen in 2022, COLD PROPHET can be described as Misanthropic Death Ambience, and it has the possibility to make you unwell both physically and mentally! This Prophet who speaks of the darkness, which will soon come to swallow us all, was born and raised in Finland in the eighties and started his career in arts already at the age of 14 as an actor and actually appeared in several cinematic productions throughout his formative years. That changed abruptly the day he was introduced and completely spellbound by the Black Metal movement at its prime in the early 90’s. However, another couple of decades would pass before Mr. Tahvanainen finally decided to try making music on his own.

In essence, one could describe the sonic landscapes, which are horrifyingly manifested via the oppressive sounds of COLD PROPHET, as more or less of an audial extension of his life of working with, and having perfected, the visual arts, decades of devoting his life to bringing a darker shade of black to the Black Metal scene. His often-sought-after skills have enabled him to design at least 500 Logotypes for bands both big and small. Not to mention the hundreds of commissioned paintings for albums by bands such as BEHERIT / ENSIFERUM / IMPALED NAZARENE / MOONSORROW / WINTERSUN / SETHERIAL etc. A seemingly constantly inspired as well as inspiring artist who just seems unable to fail at creating magic, regardless of whether he is using a pencil and brush for personally visualizing his many, many inner demons, his genuine hatred for the living draws you in, and once you’re inside, he will never let you leave.
